Job summary

Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, New York, is seeking a full-time Security Officer for the overnight shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) to join the Safety and Security Department. The officer protects members, guests, and staff, deter and respond to threats, and adheres to club policies.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, controlling access, providing medical response, investigating incidents, and enforcing health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Security, Law enforcement, Military, or Customer Service.
• Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a State of New York Guard Card.
• Must have a NY driver's license.
• Clear Criminal Background.
• Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required or obtainable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; basic computer skills.

• Maintain a safe and secure residential and working environment for all members, guests, and employees.
• Control and monitor entry for authorized individuals.
• Prevent unauthorized access to the property.
• Provide medical response capability on club property.
• Investigate and respond to incidents as directed by supervision.
• Provide emergency management guidance in case of disasters.
• Enforce club health and safety policies and standards.
• Maintain a concierge-style security approach for members and guests.

Job description

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Silo Ridge Field Club, set in Amenia, New York. Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a full-time, year-round Security Officer to join the Safety and Security Department. THIS POSITION WILL BE FOR THE OVERNIGHT SHIFT 10:00PM - 6:30AM. The Security Officer is a part of a highly professional team of safety, security and medical providers and are encouraged to contribute their knowledge and skill sets for the benefit of the community and department. The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and well-being of all members, guests, and employees at the Club. The Security Officer is responsible for deterring, detecting and responding to potential or active threats directed at members, guests, employees, and property. The Security Officer must be prepared to act accordingly within the guidelines set forth by the Club Security Department policy. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure residential and working environment for all members, guests and employees by identifying, treating, and reducing threats and workplace risks.
• Ability to conduct a seamless entry for all authorized individuals into property.
• Prevent unauthorized access to the property and use of its facilities.
• Providing a medical response capability to members, guests and employees while on club property.
• Investigate and respond to any significant incident or accidents as directed by the Supervisor, Director, or Management.
• Providing emergency management advice in the event of a natural disaster event.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
• Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Enforce the club’s health and safety policies to all members, guests, and employees.
• Maintaining the personal “concierge” security approach for all members, guests, and employees while on property.
• Become versed in Use of Force application as dictated by the company’s Use of Force policy.
• Effectively manage Use of Force incidents; limiting liability, minimizing disruptions, and preventing member, guest, and employee injuries.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Security, Law enforcement, Military, or Customer Service
• Valid New York Driver’s License
• Clear Criminal Background
• High school diploma, GED, or higher education
• Must possess, or have the ability to obtain a State of New York Guard Card
• Must be able to work and stand inside/outside during all weather conditions
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer functions and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook Email, etc.)
• Have the ability to work calmly and efficiently in high duress situations

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
• Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
