Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, NY, is seeking a full-time Security Officer for the overnight shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM). You’ll help maintain a safe environment for members, guests, and staff, deter threats, and respond to emergencies across club facilities.

Ideal candidates have a NY driver’s license, a guard card, and CPR/First Aid certifications, with strong communication skills and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid New York Driver’s License.
• High school diploma, GED, or higher required.
• Must possess or obtain a State of New York Guard Card.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for members, guests, and employees.
• Deter, detect, and respond to threats and incidents.
• Control access and monitor property entry points.
• Provide emergency medical response within club property.
• Investigate incidents and follow up with supervisor or management.
• Adhere to club policies and local, state, and federal regulations.

THIS POSITION WILL BE FOR THE OVERNIGHT SHIFT 10:00PM - 6:30AM.The Security Officer is a part of a highly professional team of safety, security and medical providers and are encouraged to contribute their knowledge and skill sets for the benefit of the community and department. The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and well-being of all members, guests, and employees at the Club. The Security Officer is responsible for deterring, detecting and responding to potential or active threats directed at members, guests, employees, and property. The Security Officer must be prepared to act accordingly within the guidelines set forth by the Club Security Department policy. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain a safe and secure residential and working environment for all members, guests and employees by identifying, treating, and reducing threats and workplace risks.Ability to conduct a seamless entry for all authorized individuals into property.Prevent unauthorized access to the property and use of its facilities.Providing a medical response capability to members, guests and employees while on club property.Investigate and respond to any significant incident or accidents as directed by the Supervisor, Director, or Management.Providing emergency management advice in the event of a natural disaster event.Adhere to all company service and operating standards.Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.Enforce the club’s health and safety policies to all members, guests, and employees.Maintaining the personal “concierge” security approach for all members, guests, and employees while on property.Become versed in Use of Force application as dictated by the company’s Use of Force policy.Effectively manage Use of Force incidents; limiting liability, minimizing disruptions, and preventing member, guest, and employee injuries.Qualifications:Prior experience in Security, Law enforcement, Military, or Customer ServiceValid New York Driver’s License.Clear Criminal Background.High school diploma, GED, or higher education.Must possess, or have the ability to obtain a State of New York Guard CardMust be able to work and stand inside/outside during all weather conditions.Must possess or have the ability to obtain certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer functions and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook Email, etc.)Have the ability to work calmly and efficiently in high duress situations.Additional Requirements:Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
