Job summary

Evolve Treatment Centers in California seeks an Overnight Residential Counselor to ensure the safety and supervision of teens in a 6-bed residential center. The role requires staying awake through the night (10pm–6am), routine maintenance, inventory checks, and documenting shift activity in KIPU.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be able to stay awake all night; overnight shift experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have 6-9 months of experience with teens with mental health or substance abuse.
• Have 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting.
• All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift.
• Must be able to pass LiveScan background checks and clear federal and state criminal background checks, and child abuse indexes.
• Possess a valid California driver’s license.
• Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed

Responsibilities

• Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am).
• Ensure clients are in bed all night and be able to provide line of sight of clients at all times.
• Check on the clients every 15 minutes.
• Walk through the facility and do a maintenance check.
• Assist with inventory check and notify the facility manager of anything that need attention.
• Document all shift activity in KIPU.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
• Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings.
