Job summary

WellPower in the Greater Denver Metro area is seeking Residential Counselors to support adults with serious mental illness in a structured home setting. You will teach daily living skills, facilitate group sessions, coordinate care, and document progress in client records.

The position offers an awake overnight shift (8pm–8am) on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, with flexible local placement. QMAP/CPR First Aid training is preferred and a Bachelor's in a related field supports RC II eligibility.

Qualifications

• RC I: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field; or, CNA/HHA certification preferred.
• RC II: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive counseling for individual psychotherapy with consumers to provide support and insight.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions within the house.
• Coordinate clinical care with case management services and other services inside and outside of MHCD.
• Assess consumers throughout the workday, and provide appropriate interventions.
• Encourage, support, and train consumers in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Help facilitate the treatment and continuity of clinical care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Complete intake and discharge tasks for new residents or those moving out.
• Maintain household safety in activities like cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
• Document all significant consumer interactions toward recovery and continuity of care.
• Complete necessary clinical documentation, such as daily log and medication records.
• Respond to consumer and building emergencies, contacting staff or clinicians as needed.
• Advocate for acceptance and integration of individuals with mental illness within the community.
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
• Attend scheduled team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
