Job summary

Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children in Pittsburgh seeks a Night Aide to support the residential population during the overnight hours. You will provide personal care when needed (lifting, toileting, bathing, etc.) and conduct routine 15-minute checks for up to 18 students (25 max).

FLSA: Non-Exempt. Schedule: 11:00pm–7:00am, Sundays through Thursdays, 187 days per year. Compensation: $20-$22/hr, depending on education level completed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Physical ability to lift, position, and assist students as required.
• Must hold proper clearances for Acts 34, 114, and 151.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous supervision of students overnight hours.
• Assist with personal care needs, such as feeding, mealtime, toileting, mobility, self-care, and hygiene.
• Implement safety plans.
• Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for all residential students.
• Collect and record data on student performance, participation, and behavior as directed.
• Follow all school, state, and federal guidelines for documentation, confidentiality, and mandated reporting.
