The hours are as followed: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 10:00pm- 8:00am

OVERVIEW: Chrysalis House is a maternity group home for pregnant or parenting runaway and homeless young women ages 16-21. Staff will utilize a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to working with youth. The program includes independent living skill building, case management, and opportunities to strengthen permanent connections with their family and community. Aside from responding to emergencies during the night, overnight staff duties include engaging residents in the evening and morning to prepare them for the day.

The Chrysalis House Overnight Resident Assistant will be on-site and available to support and supervise Chrysalis House clients and their children from 10pm-8am, Monday to Friday, and on weekends and holidays. The awake rate is from 10pm-12am and 6am-8am, with sleep time from 12am-6am. This is a twelve-month position.

Essential Functions and Duties:

1. Perform client and curfew checks for safety and health.
2. Set house alarm system by designated time.
3. Provide guidance and support regarding interpersonal issues among residents.
4. Monitor residents' adherence to program rules.
5. Assist residents with house and bedroom access during lock-outs.
6. Respond to emergencies as per procedures and notify the supervisor when needed.
7. Use sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Engage positively with youth to foster trust.
9. Maintain professional boundaries.
10. Keep accurate records of checks and incidents.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A minimum of an Associate's Degree in human services, education, or a related field, and 1-year experience or equivalent education, employment, and life experience.

Pre-employment requirements include:

• Authorization to obtain driving record information.
• Proof of a recent physical exam, including a PPD test.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Automobile insurance at specified levels.
• Access to a telephone.

Physical and Computer Skills:

Must be able to be mobile to perform services. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer are recommended.

Salary:

$19 - $21 per hour
