Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatry Nocturnist to deliver overnight care in our Inpatient Psychiatry Units in New York. This full-time role requires an MD or DO and offers a competitive salary ranging from $289,000 to $340,000.

The candidate will engage in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and supervise residents while ensuring continuity of care. Benefits include medical, dental, loan forgiveness options, and CME reimbursement. This position plays an essential role in maintaining patient safety and care quality during night shifts.

Qualifications

• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York.
• Prior experience in emergency psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, or crisis services strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, risk assessments, and treatment initiation for patients presenting to CPEP overnight.
• Supervise psychiatric residents during overnight hours.
• Collaborate with nursing, social work, and security staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and communication for continuity of care.
• Serve as clinical lead for overnight psychiatric emergencies.
