Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Overnight Power Washer (Non-CDL) for a full-time 3rd shift. You will operate high-pressure washing equipment to clean buildings, sidewalks, streets and related surfaces, taking ownership of your assigned routes while prioritizing safety and quality.

This role offers a competitive hourly pay of $20 to $25, weekly pay, and a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Education: None — ability to read.
  • Experience: 1 year DOT driving experience preferred.
  • License: Driver’s License required.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Inspection: perform pre/post inspections of equipment and verify safety features.
  • Execution: review routes, ask questions if unclear, complete jobs on time with quality.

Your daily impact

As our next Power Washer, you'll be at the heart of our mission—delivering essential services that help improve public safety and enhance environmental quality. In this role, you'll operate high-pressure washing equipment to remove dirt, grime, graffiti, and other debris from buildings, sidewalks, streets, and other surfaces. You'll take ownership of assigned work areas, ensure equipment is operated safely and effectively, and help maintain clean, attractive public and private spaces while supporting safety and environmental standards.

The job responsibilities below outline the core duties and expectations of a position, providing clarity on how the role supports Company goals.   • Safety & Inspection: Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment in accordance with company standards. Ensure all safety features are operational before beginning route.
  • Execution: Review assigned routes thoroughly prior to departure. Be proactive in asking clarifying questions if the route or expectations are unclear. Complete assigned jobs within the allotted timeframe while maintaining expected quality and attention to detail.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment safely and efficiently at all times, following all traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site-specific protocols. Exercise additional caution during inclement weather or challenging site conditions.
  • Material Handling: Handle materials safely and securely; Apply correct procedures for material types and disposal sites.
  • Reporting: Report any equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, or injuries within 30 minutes or as soon as safely possible. Immediately escalation opportunities, work issues, or safety concerns to management.
  • Professional Communication: Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while representing the company on job sites or in public areas. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients when needed.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Accurately complete required logs, manifests, and forms.
  • Adaptability & Problem Solving: Respond appropriately to changes and challenges; identify and solve issues timely.
  • Regular & Predictable Attendance: The ability to consistently report to work on time and as scheduled, with minimal unexcused absences. This includes being present and prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhering to start times, breaks, and end times.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Education: None - Ability to Read
  • Experience: 1 year DOT driving experience preferred
  • License: Driver’s License
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Compliance: Must maintain an acceptable driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with Company policy and applicable law.

Physical Requirements
  • Work Environment & Exposure: Constant work outdoors with regular exposure to weather, elements, and traffic; occasional exposure to loud noise, dust/debris, and jarring conditions; limited exposure to chemicals.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting and walking/standing; occasional bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling; limited stair climbing and crawling; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs at varying heights, including overhead.
  • Cognitive & Sensory Requirements: Continuous reading, screen use, mental focus, and hand-eye coordination throughout the workday.
  • Equipment & Tools: Operation of specialized equipment (e.g., mechanical broom sweeper) and use of hand controls, foot controls, and fine motor skills.
  • Safety & Protective Gear: Required use of appropriate PPE, including high-visibility apparel, eye, ear, hand, foot, head, lung, and skin protection.
