Job summary

The role requires setup and calibration of sleep study equipment, patient education, and accurate data documentation for analysis. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, applying electrodes, performing PAP mask fittings, and ensuring equipment operates reliably.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of AASM-accredited sleep technician program (typical 1-2 years).
• 1+ year clinical sleep laboratory experience OR 200+ documented sleep studies.
• Completion of polysomnography technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calibrate sleep study equipment according to established protocols.
• Set up polysomnography equipment and apply electrodes and sensors to patients.
• Educate patients on sleep study procedures and address concerns.
• Monitor patients during sleep studies and note any abnormalities.
• Implement physician-ordered instructions and interventions.
• Document and summarize sleep study data accurately for analysis.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform PAP mask fitting as necessary.
• Maintain sleep monitoring equipment calibration.
• Respond to patient needs during overnight monitoring.
