Job summary

CommuniCare Health in Glen Burnie, MD seeks a Pharmacy Order Entry Technician to support staff pharmacists by entering new and refill orders, reviewing resident information, and maintaining accurate records in the pharmacy computer system. Under supervision, you will triage calls, answer inquiries, coordinate with facilities, ensure accurate data entry, and uphold compliance with state regulations.

Maryland registration or certification is required; LTC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Must be a Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Review and input new/readmitted residents to include all pertinent information required to dispense medications safely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain resident-specific information by entering new data and updating existing information in the pharmacy computer system.
• Use proper phone etiquette to provide facility/resident services and triage patient calls to appropriate party.
• Answer phones to respond to orders inquiries and enter new and refill orders into the pharmacy computer system for Staff Pharmacist review.
• Maintain customers' information by entering new data and updating existing information in the system.
• Answer phones to respond to orders inquiries and place outbound calls to facilities to clarify orders as needed.
• Triage incoming faxes promptly and accurately.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with billing operations specialists.
