Job summary

Nexus Children’s Hospital – Dallas is seeking an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide overnight medical coverage for pediatric patients with complex needs. The NP will assess and manage patient care, respond to changes, and support continuity of care through the night.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, ordering tests, prescribing within scope, and collaborating with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation, and behavioral health teams to implement

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, or a master’s degree in nursing with completion of a post‑master’s NP Certification.
• Current Texas RN license and APRN license (NP).
• National certification as an Acute Care Pediatric NP (CPNP-AC) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight comprehensive medical care for pediatric patients with complex needs.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patient conditions and respond to changes.
• Order and interpret labs and tests to guide decisions.
