Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor (Transportation)
Job Summary:
The Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the Charlotte office's overnight success. This role is responsible for managing overnight parking lot operations, leading a diverse team, and operating equipment when needed. The Lead Supervisor must have strong leadership and office management skills and be able to perform field duties such as driving sweeper trucks and performing safety inspections. This position requires a flexible, hands-on leader who can thrive in both the field and office environments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure success of all overnight non-CDL and CDL teams.
- Create weekly/monthly schedules and daily parking lot routes.
- Submit safety alerts or notifications within required time limits.
- Conduct quality assurance and client research.
- Spend 25-50% of time in the field depending on the season.
- Operate Air Sweeper, Mechanical Broom Sweeper, and Dump Truck to remove debris such as broken pavement, asphalt, concrete millings, mud, construction materials, or parking lot debris caused by seasonal/weather changes.
- Perform required inspections of equipment prior to operation.
- Conduct minor mechanical checks of trucks and equipment.
- Wear proper and required PPE.
- Review scheduled routes assigned.
- Be proactive and ask questions if routes are unclear.
- Operate equipment safely, including Air Sweeper, Mechanical Broom Truck, and Dump Truck.
- Complete assigned jobs within the designated time.
- Maintain quality of work and track completed tasks/routes.
- Report equipment failures within 8 hours and any near misses, accidents, or injuries immediately.
- Ensure all team members fill trucks with fuel when returning to the shop at the end of shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- CDL preferred.
- Strong office skills.
- Prior leadership experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related work experience.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Work performed in outdoor environments with exposure to variable weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, grease, oil, and chemicals.
- Active, physical work involving lifting (50+ lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking, standing, and operating equipment for extended periods.
- Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, and clear vision (near and distant).
- Use of safety equipment such as ear and eye protection.
- Regular use of hands to operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Physically in the field 25-50% of the time depending on the season.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow up with customers.
- DOT Physical required (company-paid).
