Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for two overnight shifts at a Jamaica, Queens residence. The LPN will monitor health and safety needs of people supported living in our residences to promote wellness. Shift: 7pm–7am, Saturday and Sunday.

Pay rate: $35–$36.50 per hour. Responsibilities include supervising staff in ADLs, feeding, medication administration, infection control, documentation, and coordinating with RN supervisors.

Qualifications

• Current NYS LPN licensure is required.
• CPR certification (AHA or equivalent) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct support staff in personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Supervise mealtime and feeding protocols with adherence to nutritional guidelines.
• Perform medication administration per procedure outline.
• Monitor infection control practices and supplier readiness for First Aid supplies.
• Document medical findings for RN review and inclusion in nursing plans.
• Report any significant medical deviations to RN Supervisor immediately.
• Communicate concerns to medical providers and RN Supervisor.
• Maintain family communications regarding medical concerns.
• Provide post-operative, routine or preventative medical treatments per orders.
• Monitor vital signs and weights; obtain baseline medical information.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations; proper charting.
• Attend medical appointments as scheduled; follow emergency procedures.
• Provide coverage per staffing schedules and complete trainings.
