California State University Long Beach is seeking a Lead Custodian to supervise a team of custodians and lead cleaning operations on campus. The role reports to the Manager of Custodial Services and supports routine inspections, training, and coordination of work orders for a designated area.

The position is a 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week, with a temporary appointment of one year. The CSU Long Beach campus emphasizes safety, reliability, and high-quality custodial services.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to two years of related custodial experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of custodians and direct work, inspecting completed tasks and training staff.
• Coordinate and assist in coverage during absences and emergencies; respond to cleaning emergencies.
• Order, store and deliver supplies to custodial closets and assist with records and reports.
• May perform some supervisor duties in absence of the Supervising Custodian.
