Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (NIVES) in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a compassionate Kennel Technician to join our 24‑hour team. You’ll help care for hospitalized and boarding pets, ensuring comfort, safety, and cleanliness overnight.

Responsibilities include feeding, monitoring health, walking, grooming, sanitation, and supporting veterinarians and technicians during treatments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in animal care, boarding, kennel or shelter preferred.
• Compassion for animals of all breeds and temperaments.
• Dependable, detail-oriented and able to follow veterinary instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide food, water, and medications to hospitalized and boarding animals as directed.
• Observe and record animal behavior and health; report changes promptly.
• Comfort, walk, and groom animals; maintain a positive environment.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, cages and shared spaces.
• Assist veterinary staff with treatments and communicate with teammates overnight.
