Job summary

CVOEO seeks a Housing Advocate to join the Champlain Place Emergency Shelter in Burlington, VT. You will support guests with trauma-informed, client-centered services to secure housing and access benefits, while connecting them to employment and health services.

The role requires collaboration with local partners to overcome housing barriers and promote economic justice for vulnerable individuals. Overnight shifts from 12:00am to 8:00am are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in social/human services.
• Knowledge of homelessness, affordable housing, poverty, and economic justice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered, trauma-informed housing advocacy at Champlain Place Emergency Shelter.
• Assist clients to secure housing and access benefits.
• Refer clients to employment, medical, mental health and substance use services; coordinate with partners.
• Address barriers to housing with community agencies.
