Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis is seeking a Health Care Assistant for the Inpatient Float Pool. This 0.9 FTE position (72 hours per 2 week pay period) involves varied workdays and overnight shifts in a 12-hour schedule.

Under RN supervision, you will deliver quality patient care, perform basic duties, and support EHR documentation. CPR/BLS and ongoing competency training are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotation within an accredited nursing program.
• Enroll in and successful completion of the Hennepin Healthcare Nursing Assistant program.
• 6 months of acute nursing assistance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
• Respond to patient call lights and communicate needs to team members.
• Take and record vital signs as prescribed by nursing protocol.
• Conduct point of care tests as assigned.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and assist with transfers.
