Job summary

Cobalt Cattle Company LLC in Kansas is seeking a Night Watchman to provide security at the feedlot, assist with loading/unloading cattle shipments, and monitor cleanup time on feed bunks. This role requires reliability, ability to work nights and weekends, and adherence to safety procedures.

The position emphasizes documenting entries, coordinating with the Cattle Manager on arrivals, and maintaining yard security while performing routine housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Must have basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated math skills for counting and simple calculations.
• Knowledge of cattle feedlot operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Periodically drive the feedlot to ensure yard is secure.
• Communicate with Cattle Manager on all arrivals.
• Document everyone entering the feedlot.
• Unload cattle trucks, check headcounts and condition, weigh, and complete required paperwork.
• Oversee loading of fat cattle and verify headcounts.
• Write up watch reports regarding unusual events or problems.
• Read and record cleanup of feed bunks at 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
• Maintain general housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
