Job summary

Pet Emergency & Specialty Center La Mesa is seeking an experienced veterinary assistant or RVT for overnight, full-time shifts (4 ten-hour days, including one weekend). You will work with our Emergency and Critical Care team to provide hands-on patient care, triage, diagnostics, admissions, and discharges.

You will support veterinarians, maintain records, and educate clients while ensuring smooth patient flow in a fast-paced hospital.

Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary assistant or RVT required.
• Overnight full-time position: 4 ten-hour shifts including one weekend day.
• Role involves triage, outpatient treatments, diagnostics, admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and positive client education.
• Assist in maximizing productivity and patient flow across hospital functions.
• Communicate health concerns and treatment plans with clients.
• Maintain medical records and charts with practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and update records.
• Maintain clean, sterile treatment areas and labs.
• Guide and support fellow team members.
