Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital (TVRH) is seeking an Overnight Emergency and ICU Veterinary Patient Care Assistant for the 3rd shift (10pm–8am) in Durham, NC. This full-time position offers on-the-job training and a shift differential to support night coverage in our Emergency/ICU department.

The PCA will work closely with ER clinicians, RVTs, and assistants, assisting with patient care, radiographs, lab work, and daily hospital tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in the veterinary field.

Responsibilities

• Properly restrain canine and feline patients for procedures.
• Assist clinicians and technicians with patient care.
• Assist in positioning and acquisition of patient radiographs.
• Run in-house laboratory tests.
• Set-up and prep for patient procedures and fill prescriptions.
• Proactively assist team members throughout the hospital.
• Enter patient vitals into the system and complete treatments.
• Stock supplies in ICU.
• Assist in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
