Job summary

AnimERge in Raritan, New Jersey, is seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced team. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care, assisting with exams and surgeries, and maintaining medical records for our emergency patients.

You will work overnight shifts four days a week, with 10-hour shifts and alternating weekends. Preference given to credentialed technicians with emergency/critical care experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Proficient in safe and gentle animal restraint.
• Able to perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, induce, intubate and monitor anesthesia until full recovery.
• Must be able to accurately calculate drug doses, including CRIs and dilutions.
• A positive attitude and excellent communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by determining animal requirements, performing exams and diagnostic procedures.
• Care for patients by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining medical records.
• Assist during surgeries and general procedures, prepare supplies, and restrain patients as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment and proper inventory of supplies.
• Communicate with pet owners about patient status and discharge instructions.
• Follow all legal regulations and hospital policies; participate in ongoing education.
