Job summary

Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas (AEHNT) is seeking a Veterinary Technician for overnight emergency coverage in Grapevine, TX. You will provide compassionate nursing care, perform anesthesia monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and critical nursing tasks in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency setting alongside a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician required or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of veterinary experience.
• Emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Proficient in venipuncture, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Fluent English speaking and reading.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients throughout treatment and recovery.
• Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and manage IV fluid therapy.
• Assist with emergency diagnostics, treatments, and supportive care procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency and surgical procedures.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition.
• Safely restrain and handle patients while maintaining comfort and minimizing stress.
• Assist with post-operative patient monitoring and recovery.
• Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and patient observations within medical records.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients regarding patient care plans.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and emergency areas.
