Job summary

Animal ER of University Park in Bradenton, FL, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks experienced Veterinary Technician Assistants for overnight emergency shifts. This full-time role covers three 12-hour overnight shifts per week, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, supporting patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and hospital operations in a fast-paced setting.

You will work alongside veterinarians and technicians to deliver compassionate care, with duties spanning monitoring, diagnostic testing, medication

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine.
• Prior emergency veterinary experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic veterinary medicine and safe patient restraint.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with clients and veterinary team members.
• Comfortable adapting to the changing needs of emergency patients.
• Passion for learning, professional growth, and providing excellent patient care.
• A positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach to working in an animal hospital.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, monitoring, treatments, and safe patient restraint.
• Assist with routine diagnostic testing, including radiographs, bloodwork, and fecal testing.
• Administer medications under the supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician.
• Feed and bathe hospitalized patients.
• Maintain inventory and stock treatment and hospital areas.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam rooms, and treatment areas.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Answer phones and assist clients with questions regarding their pets.
• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with emergency patient care and hospital needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
