Job summary

Overnight Emergency Veterinarian (DVM/VMD) position available in Omaha, NE, at a referral and emergency center with an industry-leading salary. This full‑time role offers 24/7 coverage, collaboration with board-certified specialists, and access to advanced imaging and diagnostics in a high‑acuity setting.

You will triage, stabilize, and deliver ICU/ER care with a skilled team, while participating in mentorship for new graduates and contributing to a dynamic teaching culture.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary program.
• License to practice in Nebraska or eligibility to obtain.
• DEA and state controlled substance licensure or eligibility to obtain.
• Emergency or critical care interest; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Overnight or swing-shift ER management in a 24/7 service.
• Triage, stabilize, and deliver high-quality ICU/ER care with support from technicians.
• Utilize in-house lab and imaging; coordinate advanced diagnostics (CT, MRI, ultrasound).
• Collaborate with specialty services in internal medicine, surgery, neurology, oncology, and imaging.
• Perform emergency procedures and soft-tissue surgeries as appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with clients and referring veterinarians; support referral relationships.
• Participate in a teaching-oriented culture; mentorship available for new graduates.
