Job summary

Oak Hill in Watertown, CT, is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals for overnight, part-time shifts. You’ll assist adults with disabilities in a residential setting, support daily living, health monitoring, and community engagement. Previous DSP/CNA experience is preferred, but paid training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain necessary certifications.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment in accordance with Oak Hill policies.
• Commitment to continuity of care, including occasional extended shifts until coverage is in place.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in living healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling lives by assisting with daily living activities.
• Monitor and document health information and administer medications per training and directives.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community events using agency vehicles.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to menus and dietary needs; provide mealtime support.
• Assist with mobility and transfers using approved techniques and equipment.
• Document daily activities, health information, progress notes, and medications in the EHR; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follow emergency procedures and apply behavioral support strategies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members, individuals served, and families; participate in trainings and meetings.
