Job summary

Community Living Alternatives is seeking an Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Arlington, VA. You will provide overnight care, monitor safety, assist with daily living activities, and promote joy, independence, and meaningful community engagement.

The role requires empathy, patience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Weekend schedule includes Friday night through Sunday night with a base pay of $19.00 per hour

Qualifications

• The ability to bring joy into the lives of adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
• The ability to assess activities and physical space for risks that may hinder joyful engagement and ensure support is provided.
• The ability to communicate about joyful activities both verbally and in writing.
• The ability to support adults in finding and advocating for joy as much as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide supports and joy to adults with IDD in group homes and in the community.
• Help individuals build relationships, stay safe, and engage in joyful activities while promoting independence.
