Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville, NC is seeking a Precision CNC Manufacturing Technician on 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) to join our onsite facility. You’ll read blueprints, select tools, set up and run multiple CNC machines, monitor performance, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include tool selection, fixture setup, data entry, quality checks to 0.0002 in, and documenting nonconformities.

Qualifications

Read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, memos, and procedures.
Communicate job information clearly in one-on-one and small-group settings.
Perform basic math with values between 0.0001 and 0.1; convert between metric and US units.
Follow detailed written and verbal instructions; solve problems involving several variables.
Apply standard problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys).

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, sketches, and job instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setups.
Select, install, and verify cutting tools, attachments, and materials on mills, lathes, grinders, machining centers, drill presses, and drill machines.
Input, retrieve, and edit CNC control data; set up, operate, and adjust to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Use micrometers, calipers, bore/depth/height gauges, feeler gauges, and other instruments to validate parts.
Rework nonconforming parts to meet specification.
Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production teammates to resolve machining challenges.
