Job summary

Unity Psychiatric Care in Martin, TN seeks a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient care during night shifts under nurse supervision. You will assist with daily living activities and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Required CNA and CPR certifications; CPI training will be provided. Prior experience in mental health or geriatric settings preferred. Flexible hours with potential overtime. Wage is competitive for the shift.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required.
• CPR certification will be trained at the next available class.
• CPI training will be provided; until then, supervision by CPI-certified staff.
• CMS Restraint and Seclusion training with yearly refreshers.
• One to two years in a mental health, patient care, or geriatric setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care such as bathing, dressing, and walking.
• Monitor patients and report to supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.
• Complete admission paperwork and patient orientation to the hospital.
• Transport patients and equipment.
• Participate in and assist with recreational and therapeutic activities for patients.
