Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a Health Care Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool in Minneapolis. This 0.75 FTE role covers varied shifts, including overnights, with 12-hour shifts and a focus on patient-centered care amidst a busy hospital environment.

The position engages in direct patient care, EHR duties, and unit coordination, under RN supervision. Eligible candidates will hold Minnesota CNA registration and may have EPIC experience; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification on Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry at hire
• One semester of clinical rotation or enrollment in Nursing Assistant program may qualify
• Ability to obtain Hennepin Healthcare Nursing Assistant program or equivalent training
• Basic Life Support certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, grooming, bathing)
• Take and record vital signs as prescribed
• Respond to call lights promptly and communicate needs to RN
• Perform rounds with RN and document I&O and patient data
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and assist with mobility
• Record actions in the EHR and triage calls appropriately
