Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Truck Driver responsible for on-time delivery between distribution centers, stores, and vendors. The role involves safe operation of a tractor-trailer, unloading and reloading freight, and daily paperwork to comply with DOT regulations.

Overnight travel and severe weather are expected; a valid Class A CDL and one year of tractor/trailer experience are preferred. This position supports store teams and distribution centers within the Dollar General network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One-year tractor/trailer driving experience required.
• Valid Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Transports store-delivery freight and backhauls over-the-road safely and efficiently per DG policies and laws.
• Unloads and reloads freight and rolltainers at each delivery.
• Rolls rolltainers off trailer onto lift gate and into the store backroom.
• Unloads toppers from rolltainers onto U-boats and places them in the backroom of the store.
• Reloads return rolltainers and product onto trailer and returns to DC or consolidation point.
• Transfers rolltainers between trailers at consolidation points to create empties for vendors.
• Secures all freight and rolltainers at each stop before sealing the trailer.
• Provides professional customer service to store teams, backhaul vendors, and distribution employees.
• Completes required paperwork and maintains records under state and federal laws.
• Ensures vehicle operation complies with state and federal laws.
