Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Truck Driver to deliver freight between distribution centers, stores, and vendors. The role involves interstate and intrastate travel, unloading and loading freight, and returning rolltainers as needed.

Drivers must safely operate the vehicle, meet DOT regulations, and provide professional customer service. Responsibilities include paperwork, securing freight, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to meet medical and safety standards required by DOT.
• Ability to squat, reach, and handle freight.
• Ability to enter/exit cab multiple times daily.
• Ability to move heavy freight (up to 50 lbs) and operate equipment.
• Proficient in securing freight and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Transport store-delivery freight and returns, over-the-road, in a safe, efficient, timely manner.
• Unload/reload freight and rolltainers at deliveries; manage toppers and boxes on rolltainers.
• Move rolltainers from trailer to store backroom; backhaul to DC or vendor when needed.
• Transfer rolltainers between trailers at consolidation points to keep empty trailers ready.
• Secure freight and rolltainers before sealing trailers at every stop.
• Provide professional customer service to store teams, vendors, and distribution staff.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain regulatory records.
• Ensure vehicle operations comply with state and federal laws.
