Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is seeking a Caregiver Assistant to support residents in our Elgin, IL branch on overnight shifts. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, and social engagement, always with compassion and a focus on preserving resident dignity.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or related experience), willingness to complete a CNA course within six months, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication, time-management, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or 1 year related experience.
• Willing to complete Certified Nurse Aide course within six months of hire.
• Willing to take additional training or education, which states may require.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Know the residents you serve, providing care based on their service plans.
• Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meals, and social engagement.
• Communicate with branch clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
• Knowledge of how to approach and care for residents with dementia.
