Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Overnight Security Guard for a college campus in Bronx, NY. You will patrol facilities, deter security incidents, and provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence.

The role requires 1+ year of security experience, HS diploma, and compliance with background checks and drug screening. Evening/night shifts apply and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures; report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency protocols.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
