Job Description

Reports to: Front Office Manager/Rooms Manager

General Purpose: Under general supervision, provides porter and valet services to hotel guests and ensures their satisfaction and comfort by promptly and courteously responding to guest requests.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Cleans lobby areas and entrances, maintains free of debris to present a clean and attractive facility.
• Assists other employees and departments to contribute to the overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Greets and assists arriving guests with unloading luggage and transporting it to their room, using luggage carts if necessary. Offers to park guest vehicles and provides claim tickets.
• Assists departing guests by transporting luggage from rooms to the lobby and helping load luggage into vehicles. Retrieves vehicles and assists guests with departure.
• Responds to guest needs by delivering laundry, newspapers, iron & ironing boards, additional linens, etc., promptly and courteously.
• Explains hotel services and provides up-to-date hotel information to enhance customer relations.
• Keeps informed about local activities and establishments to answer questions, give directions, and make recommendations.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times with guests, teammates, and passersby.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Tactful, courteous, discreet.
• Strong communication skills; must speak and understand English.
• Clean and professional appearance.
• Enthusiastic about 21c Museum Hotels.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willing to train on manual transmissions within 90 days.

Education/Formal Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• At least two years of driving experience with a clean record.

Physical Requirements:

• Operate luggage carts and standard office equipment.
• Lift luggage up to 70 lbs.
• Prolonged standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Exposure to outside elements, primarily indoor work.
