Job summary

Compassion Behavioral Health is seeking an Overnight Behavioral Health Technician to join our PHP program in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The role focuses on ensuring patient safety and supporting structured nightly care in a compassionate, team-based environment.

The successful candidate will monitor patients, document observations, support treatment plans, and collaborate with clinicians to promote recovery. A valid driver’s license and experience in behavioral health are preferred.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Overnight Behavioral Health Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting our patients and maintaining a safe, structured environment throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and supervise patients to ensure their safety, well-being, and adherence to facility guidelines.
• Document patient behaviors, observations, and any significant incidents accurately and promptly.
• Build positive, professional relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
• Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans established by the clinical team.
• Utilize effective communication, active listening, and de-escalation techniques when responding to challenging situations.
• Collaborate with fellow BHTs, therapists, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Encourage a positive and respectful environment that supports patient recovery.
• Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Assist department leadership with daily responsibilities and operational needs.
