Job summary

Terrapin House, Inc. is looking for a compassionate Overnight Caregiver to support a young man with autism in his family home in Malvern, PA. This awake overnight shift runs Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, offering meaningful one-on-one care and a stable learning environment.

You will remain awake, provide personal care, and follow established routines to ensure comfort, safety, and a peaceful night. A supportive team and family emphasize respectful collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Remain awake and attentive for entire shift.
• Provide personal care, including diaper changes and hygiene support.
• Assist with repositioning and comfort needs as required.
• Offer reassurance if he wakes during the night.
• Help him return to sleep using established routines.
• Maintain a calm, safe environment.
• Monitor health and safety concerns.
• Follow support plans and nighttime routines.
• Support safety during challenging behaviors.
• Communicate important information to family and daytime staff.

Weekend Overnight Caregiver (Awake Shift)

Fridays & Saturdays | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

$22.38 per Hour

Looking for meaningful weekend work where you can truly make a difference?

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Overnight Caregiver to support a wonderful 21-year-old young man with autism and other disabilities in his family's home. This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys helping others, and takes pride in providing excellent care.

You will be joining a supportive team and working with a family who values and appreciates the people who help care for their son. This is a welcoming, respectful home environment where caregivers are treated as important members of the team.

About the Role

This is an awake overnight position, meaning you must remain alert, attentive, and available throughout the entire shift. Most nights are quiet, but the right candidate will be prepared to provide support as needed to ensure comfort, safety, and a peaceful nighttime routine. You may need to change diapers and comfort him in the middle of the night.

The young man you will support is kind, engaging, and benefits from caregivers who are patient, reassuring, and consistent.

• Personal care experience
