Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an Overnight Associate Booking Producer for NBC News to join the Booking and Editorial Unit on the News and Politics team in New York, NY. You will book guests across TODAY, Meet the Press, Dateline, NBC News NOW, and other platforms, coordinating travel, live shots, and editorial guidance.

The role requires 2+ years in production or network booking, a Bachelor's degree, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working in production or booking at the network level.

  • Support on set and remote guest coordination for tape and live segments across NBC News NOW shows.
  • Direct bookers in the field and schedule guests and analysts during breaking news.
  • Compile and send daily booking notes and create handovers for the next day.

Job Description

As the Overnight Associate Booking Producer, you will work as part of NBC News’ Booking and Editorial Unit, on the News and Politics team, responsible for booking guests across all platforms of NBC News, including TODAY, Weekend TODAY, Nightly News, Weekend Nightly News, Meet the Press, Dateline, Specials, as well as our streaming network NBC News NOW and all digital platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Manage short- and long-term bookings across multiple NBC News platforms.
  • Pitch story ideas and work on assigned bookings as they are launched by editorial teams and shows.
  • Coordinate guest travel and live shot logistics in partnership with production teams and arrange editorial guidance and pre-interviews with segment producers.
  • Support the team in on set and remote guest coordination for tape and live segments, helping to book and organize guests across various broadcast and NBC News NOW shows.
  • Work with the team to give direction to bookers in the field, as well as coordinate and schedule guests and analysts, often during breaking news.
  • Responsible for compiling and sending out our daily booking note which details all booking efforts and secured guests as well as organizing the team’s bookings into comprehensive handovers for the next day.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working in production or booking at the network level.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree.

  • This job is a Sunday to Thursday schedule, with the shift beginning in the afternoon and ending in the mid-overnight hours (around 2-3am). Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice if needed.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
  • Must be willing to travel with little notice, and for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Must be willing to take a background investigation.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Strong knowledge of all social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events.
Additional Requirements

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
