Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is hiring an Acute Pharmacy Technician to perform packaging, distribution, compounding, and record-keeping under pharmacist supervision. You will serve as liaison between customers and the pharmacist and become proficient in preparing IV meds and total parenteral nutrition within USP guidelines.

You will use pharmacy computer systems to resolve missing medication requests, participate in training, and ensure age-appropriate patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Arizona practice: AZ Board Wallet Card required.
• Strong math, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with medication management systems.

Responsibilities

• Identifies medications and restocks inventory as necessary.
• Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff.
• Restocks automated dispensing technology and related areas as permitted.
• Compounds non-sterile medications per recipes and USP guidelines.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment and documents temperatures and equipment maintenance.
• Handles narcotic medications following all regulations and policy.
• Educates and trains peers and volunteers when appropriate.
