Job summary

XKIG is seeking an Overhead 1st Class Electrician to support operations in the Kettering, MD area with four 10-hour days per week. The role involves travel to multiple locations and potential state-to-state assignments based on customer demand, focusing on safe, high-voltage distribution work.

You will lead crew members in the Foreman's absence, install and maintain components, troubleshoot primary/secondary systems, and ensure all safety procedures are followed in various weather and site

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of recent field experience.
• Lift more than 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of inspecting rubber goods and PPE.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.
• Willingness to glove/work live high voltage power lines.
• Work extended periods in multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman.
• Set poles and anchors.
• Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot trouble in primary and secondary systems.
• Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems.
• Safely perform a reconductoring job.
• Plan safe work based on a job print or work order.
