Job summary

AUI Power is seeking a skilled, self-motivated team player to join our overhead line crew as a Groundhand. This entry-level position supports linemen and equipment operators in installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead power lines, handling materials, digging, and site preparation in outdoor conditions.

The role emphasizes safety protocols, knowledge of hand and power tools, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina for physically demanding construction duties.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools used in line work.
• Strong awareness of OSHA and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials for the job site.
• Dig holes and trenches for poles, anchors, and conduit, and backfill when work is completed.
• Prepare poles and hardware by attaching insulators, wires, and brackets.
• Assist in stringing and pulling wires and cables by hand or with mechanical aids.
• Act as a spotter for line workers and keep the site clean and safe.
• Install ground rods and connect ground wires as specified.
