Job summary
Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Distribution Designer to design overhead distribution poles, model loading, and ensure compliance with safety codes. The role focuses on using pole loading software and coordinating with field crews to deliver accurate designs.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of utility distribution design experience, an associate degree in electrical design or related field, and strong knowledge of utility
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Design or related field.
- 2+ years of utility distribution design experience.
Responsibilities
- Design overhead distribution poles using pole loading software (DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc).
- Configure pole structures per client standards and field conditions.
- Add and model conductors, equipment, and joint-use attachments.
- Perform clearance and pole loading analysis.
- Prepare construction estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and field crews.
