Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Groundperson to support construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized lines from ground level. The role involves coordinating with linepersons, assembling materials, and ensuring safety standards are observed on every job site.

Responsibilities include routine tool maintenance, outage response, and communicating with property owners about work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.
• Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work following company established Safety and Health standards and from the ground.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
• Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
• Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.).
• All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
• Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson
