STRIVE Recruitment Inc. Lancaster, NY is seeking an Overhead Crane Service Technician – Apprentice to join our field team.

You will assist with installation, repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment, gaining hands-on field experience in a manufacturing setting. The role values a strong electrical and mechanical background, willingness to troubleshoot, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on electrical experience.
• Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Welding experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Work within a team environment to accomplish service and maintenance goals.
• Assist with inspections of hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls, and pullers.
• Assist with ordering parts and maintaining inventory; complete maintenance reports and documentation.
• Assist with crane inspections, repairs, installations, and breakdown calls.
• Adjust equipment and assist with repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Assist with preventative maintenance on overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Follow safe working practices and company safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

THE ROLE

As an Overhead Crane Service Technician – Apprentice, you will be working in the field assisting with the installation, repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment. This is a great permanent opportunity for someone who has a strong electrical and mechanical background and is looking to build a long-term career in the overhead crane industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge and understanding of structural, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Welding experience is considered an asset
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent people and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to work in elevated areas
• Eager to learn and develop technical skills
• Available to work overtime as required
• Must have reliable own transportation
• Valid driver's license in good standing
