Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. seeks a motivated Material Handler to support safety, productivity and quality goals in our Commerce City, CO facility. You will move steel, attach slings, operate forklifts or cranes, and follow defined safe methods of work daily.

We offer tuition reimbursement, training and development, medical, dental, vision coverage and other benefits; typical pay is 19.00–24.00 per hour DOE, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret work orders or instructions.
• Maintain productivity while meeting quality standards.
• Plan and organize daily activities with or without supervision.
• Develop working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Communicate across departments regarding routing, safety, and customer needs.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Possess customer relations awareness when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe methods of work at all times and report unsafe conditions.
• Safely move steel to/from storage, production areas, docks or vehicles using hand, forklift or crane.
• Lift up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet; some manual handling as required.
• Apply proper bundling techniques and prepare loads for transport.
• Configure loads based on route and ensure maximum safe capacity.
• Operate and maintain tools such as tape measures, calipers, banding machines and forklifts.
• Identify safety issues relating to equipment and report promptly.
• Work indoors/outdoors in varying weather; stay aware of moving objects and personnel.
• Attend required meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
