Job summary

New Era Cap, LLC. is seeking an Oven Operator for our on-site production facility in Opa-Locka, FL. The role focuses on receiving garments from the oven, performing quality checks, and ensuring order counts are accurate.

This is a full-time, on-site position with a pathway for growth within the production team. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, the ability to stand for an 8-hour shift, and the capacity to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift and perform repetitive lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to read measurements and perform basic math.
• Must wear all required PPE and work on-site in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Verify garment design information, color, and piece quantity coming from the oven.
• Check design quality after printing and coordinate with machine operator to stop/fix issues as needed.
• Verify order quantities by size as garments exit the oven.
• Maintain and clean the oven machine and surrounding area.
• Assist the machine operator with additional duties as required.
• Clean work supplies and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Protect sensitive information and follow confidentiality requirements.
• Perform any other assigned duties.

The Oven Operator is responsible for receiving the garments from the oven machine, conducting quality checks and ensuring order counts accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Verify information regarding the design; check the garment color and quantity of pieces to be printed
• Verify the quality of the designs once garments are printed. Communicate with the Operator of the machine if any issues to stop and fix design
• Verify quantity of order by size as it’s coming out of the oven
• Maintain and clean the machine
• Assist the machine operator with other duties
• Clean supplies
• Keeps all sensitive matters confidential
• Other duties as assigned

• Able to work overtime, including Saturdays if needed
• Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions (appropriate footwear)

Education and Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

The hourly range for this posted position is $16-$18/hour (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
