Job summary

Smithfield Foods is hiring an Oven Aging Technician to oversee oven processes, operate mechanicals, and maintain product quality. You will perform HACCP-compliant tasks, record production temperatures, and ensure USDA aging standards are met.

The role requires 2-3 years of related experience, high school diploma, and strong written/spoken communication. You may operate various equipment and support coverage for other aging technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 2-3 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of SAP and/or production software.
• Good verbal/written communication skills.
• Near acuity and accommodation for reading literature, reports and screens.
• Ability to conduct phone, two-way radio and direct conversations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee oven processes and controls.
• Operate oven mechanicals for product consistency.
• Data entry of production records and temperatures.
• Follow all Quality and HACCP procedures (SOPs).
• Follow USDA requirements for product aging.
• Troubleshoot issues and make corrections as needed.
• Schedule oven loading/unloading for delivery of product.
• Take pH measurements on scheduled intervals and adjust processes.
• Check fermenting and cooking product for proper conditions.
• Maintain a safe environment and recommend improvements.
• May operate equipment including powered industrial movers.
• In absence of aging technicians, others will cover roles.
