Job summary

The Iowa State University’s Department of Animal Science invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position focusing on ovarian biology and toxicology in the PFAS exposure context. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative program, perform animal exposure studies, ex vivo ovary culture, and collect phenotypic/biochemical data.

Qualifications

• PhD in Reproductive Biology, Toxicology or related field.
• Experience in ovarian biology, female reproductive biology, and/or toxicology.
• Experience with animal handling, exposure studies, and biological data collection.
• Experience performing molecular laboratory analyses, including western blotting and immunofluorescent staining.
• Experience with histology, ovarian follicle counting, and/or ex vivo ovary culture.
• Experience with statistical analysis and coding in Python or R, bioinformatic analyses, and/or proteomic analyses.

Responsibilities

• The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct animal exposure studies and ex vivo ovary culture experiments.
• Perform molecular analyses, ovarian follicle assessment and steroid hormone quantification.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and assist with manuscript preparation.
• Train and mentor graduate students and maintain detailed research records.
