Citrin Cooperman is seeking a Business Process Outsourcing Manager in the Advisory Department to oversee daily financial operations, manage onshore and offshore staff, and coordinate external audits. Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of Big 4 or regional public accounting audit experience
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with ERP implementations preferred
• Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Experience with multiple accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; MBA or CPA a plus

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day financial operations including GL, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
• Monitor team usage of internal procedures, processes, and controls
• Manage onshore and offshore staff performing transactional and accounting activities
• Assist in preparation of financial statements
• Coordinate communications with vendors, clients, partners, banks, and other parties
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/annual closings
• Assist in budgets and forecasts
• Review accounting information for inaccuracies
• Convert customers to new accounting systems and perform cleanup
• Advise on technical accounting decisions
• Develop models and analyses for client requests
• Drive improvements of internal operations
• Coordinate external audit processes and ensure timely accuracy
• Lead 409A valuation for common stock

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Business Process Outsourcing Manager to join our Advisory Department. As a Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Run the day-to-day financial operations of our clients including the general ledger, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
• Monitor our team’s usage of our internal procedures, processes, and controls
• Manage both onshore and offshore staff on an ongoing basis as they perform transactional activities, technical accounting activities, and synthesize data into reports or analysis for the clients
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
• Manage communications with vendors, clients, partners, shareholders, banks, and other interested parties for each client
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and coordinating the overall effort for the monthly and annual closing processes
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Convert customers to new accounting systems and perform cleanup activities on clients’ books and records
• Advise and assist with technical accounting decisions
• Develop models and analysis for client requests
• Encourage ongoing improvement of internal operations, taking input from key business stakeholders (or senior staff) and developing process, technology, or structural improvements
• Function as primary point of contact, oversee, and manage all aspects of external audit processes and coordinate to ensure timely and accurate
• Lead the 409(A) valuation process for common stock and advise clients

Qualifications

• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and is highly effective in developing trusted relationships in person, over the phone, and through written communications
• Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or other similar position
• Desire to work with life science companies
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes and of the structure necessary to run them efficiently and effectively (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
• Knowledge and experience of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
• Experience with multiple accounting systems which could include Quickbooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, and other middle-market accounting and ERP packages
• Expert in Excel
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a relevant field is preferred, MBA or advanced degree would be a plus
• Experience participating in an ERP implementation is a plus
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
