BerryDunn is offering an Outsourced Accounting Intern position to gain hands-on experience with managing client assignments, including preparing financial statements, general ledger processing, reconciliations, and journal entries across diverse industries. The internship accepts candidates for Spring 2027 and Summer 2027, with primary offices in Portland, ME; Bangor, ME; Manchester, NH; or Waltham, MA.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree in Accounting preferred.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple ongoing assignments.
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Perform attestation work including compilation and preparing financial statement engagements.
Close monthly and quarterly books for multiple client engagements, including maintenance of prepaids, accruals, depreciation and other GAAP adjustments.
Prepare GAAP work papers and trial balances.
Assist team with GAAP adjustments and reports.
Process payables and receivables for multiple clients.
Record bank and credit card activity in QuickBooks and reconcile cash balances.
