Responsibilities:
- The Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry provides advisory services to clients through scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statements, cash-flow forecasts, and budgets.
- Serve as the primary contact for technology industry client engagements.
- Partner with clients or Fractional CFOs/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships within the tech-innovation industry.
- Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client.
- Oversee client accounting teams, ensuring expectations are met on all deliverables.
- Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and investors.
- Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
- Review and finalize accounting period closes.
- Analyze and review financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and assist CFOs with projections and financial models.
- Assist in preparing financial data for capital raises or data rooms for due diligence.
- Work with clients to review and strengthen internal controls.
- Evaluate accounting policies and procedures to recommend process improvements.
- Manage internal team budgets and performance expectations.
- Handle multiple projects of varying size and complexity, from startups to companies preparing for exit.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, as an assistant controller, controller, or similar role in public accounting.
- Experience as a financial controller in the technology industry is preferred.
- Experience with venture capital or private equity-backed portfolio companies is desirable but not required.
- Previous public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to build and manage multiple relationships.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and work comfortably in a fast-paced, project management environment.
